1 gallon pots
Balled and burlaped oaks
Each spring we choose trees and shrubs that are ready for transplanting. Seedlings are trimmed to two-thirds of their height to encourage strong trunks then the roots are cleaned of soil inspected for vigor and trimmed. The strongest seedlings are selected to plant in one gallon air pruning pots were they will remain for one or two growing seasons. These pots ensure a strong, evenly distributed root system that provides the plant the support it needs to grow until the next transplanting. Spring is also time to dig dormant trees. To produce optimum root systems we transplant every tree at least once every three years. Some are sold while others are root-pruned and replanted either in air pruning containers or back into the ground.
